About my Toast painting: it came about because I wanted to paint something weird and edgy that was ALSO simple and classic. I wanted people to receive a strong message (one they could FEEL on a gut level) without being didactic. I thought, wouldn't it be AMAZING to elicit that kind of emotion through a piece of burnt toast -- the most relatable & basic cuisine." HOW awesome would it be to take a completely un-awesome thing and elevate it. To make people look SO closely at the texture of the bread... to marvel at every crumb. And they did! People even went so far as to personify the Toast; they felt it represented them. Imperfect, delicious, and relatable, with a dark side. IF this is YOU... We ship unframed work internationally. All prints are made to order, one by one. It usually takes 2-3 weeks for your order to be completed before shipping. Since all of the artwork is prepared by hand, one by one, buyers generally don't mind waiting for a piece that has been carefully and specifically made for them. Especially these days, looking forward to something like that can be super exciting!
