This piece was THE MOST fun to paint. Aesthetically, I was beyond excited about a bright pop of pink on a stark white background. But beyond aesthetics: I grew up living with my grandmother who was always always always knitting. I guess this piece is sort of a love letter to my bubby — a way of taking her craft into contemporary minimalist aesthetics, and more deeply, a way of taking her along on this crazy art adventure.
