I painted this piece because it was JUST RIDICULOUS. I thought, HOW awesome -- HOW decisively unclassy -- would it be to have a giant banana hanging in a luxurious dining space? I also love how this piece points to other icons of art history that have led to this moment. Not to mention the symbolism of a ripe banana, especially as we end 2022... what can I say, I'm in love with this painting for so many different reasons. Orange ya glad I listed them all?
